 The C5 is a professional cardioid condenser microphone with less “reach” than competitive products to work better for vocalists who use in-ear monitor systems and for use on loud stages. The C5 uses a classic AKG small-diaphragm capsule design with an edge-terminated diaphragm that is wrapped in 24-carat gold housing for protection against moisture and humidity. The C5 also includes a presence boost adapter – a small snap-on acoustic equalizer that gives the sound more energy and intelligibility in the 3 – 5 kHz range. The presence boost adapter can be removed for use with singers with thinner voices and adds considerable sonic flexibility to the microphone.
The C5 has other premium construction features including a thick spring steel dent-resistant grille and gold-plated XLR output connector for loss-free signal transfer. The C5 delivers studio-quality sound for the stage.
