Only the finest Sugar Maple from North Eastern USA and Canada is used to make Taye's StudioMaple drums. Master shell maker cross-laminates the thinnest rotary-cut veneer panels. These bend easily and offer no resistance when formed into cylinders. Six piece kit includes 22x18 bass, 16x13, 14x11, 12x9, 10x8.5 mounted toms and a 14x6 snare drum. Includes hardware. Cymbals and throne sold separate.

Skilled TAYE craftsmen form StudioMaple shells in specially designed heated molds, under high and even pressure. The goal is a rigid thin shell - rigid enough to resist distortion under heavy tension, and thin enough to promote sweet low resonant sound. You can hear and feel all the magic of maple in every StudioMaple shell - strong attack combined with rich, warm bottom end.

To achieve what these drums are do, special shell thicknesses are used: shells 8-13 are 6 ply, 4.5mm, shells 14-24 are 7 ply 5.3mm and snare drum shells are 10 ply, 7.5mm.
