TAYE StudioMaple...
... for the professional musician
Only the finest Sugar Maple from North Eastern USA and Canada is used to make our StudioMaple drums. Our master shellmaker cross-laminates the thinnest rotary-cut veneer panels. These bend easily and offer no resistance when formed into cylinders.
Skilled TAYE craftsmen form StudioMaple shells in specially designed heated molds, under high and even pressure. Our goal is a rigid thin shell - rigid enough to resist distortion under heavy tension, and thin enough to promote sweet low resonant sound. You can hear and feel all the magic of maple in our StudioMaple shell - strong attack combined with rich, warm bottom end.
Shell sizes 8 in. to 13 in. are 6 plys / 4.5mm thick. Shell sizes 14 in. to 24 in. are 7 plys / 5.3mm thick. Snare drum is 10 ply / 7.5mm thick.
